Ducal Guard’s Guide

The Ducal Guard has the distinction of being the oldest Marrach Faol order, and also the only one to this day that has a mandatory uniform.  The Ducal Guard’s history is a colorful one, and it’s membership represents our most loyal and trusted members.

Appointment to the Ducal Guard is not done lightly, and is an honor that is awarded only after a significant history of sustained contribution and utmost loyalty to the guild and it’s members.

Duties of a Ducal Guard Member

A member of the Ducal Guard is still expected to perform the responsibilities of a Command Rank Member, but also perform several new and quite unique functions.

The Ducal Guard’s main role is to serve as the personal escort and Guard to the Archduke and High Council members.  This includes being on duty for major guild functions, and serving as door guards when the Archduke is holding office hours.  This is also done as a courtesy for our hunt leaders for the post hunt interviews.  On occassion, the Ducal Guard may also serve a ceremonial role at weddings and other celebrations.

The Ducal Guard also serve as our guild’s internal security force – handling enforcement of policy and protection of guildmates against the occasional rogue member, serving as supervisors for consensual duels, and ensuring the proper observance of all guild policies.

Uniform of the Ducal Guard
The Ducal Guard uniform will be worn by all DG members during official functions.  It is highly encouraged to be worn at all times, but not mandatory.

Male Uniform:  Copper or copper colored armor.  White surcoat, guild green cloak.  Copper halberd.

Female Uniform:  Copper or copper colored armor.  White plain dress, guild green cloak and cap.  Copper halberd.

Note!  It is strictly against guild policy for members to wear the white surcoat/dress and green cloak of the Ducal Guard uniform if not a Ducal Guard member.  The exception to this are those members on a hunt in command lance where the coloring of their cloak must necessarily be DG green.  In this case, they are expected to re-dye their cloak immediately following the hunt.
