Hallywhack
(Hallywhack was the website of Kale/Kielia.)
I have been playing Ultima Online since 1999. I actually bought the game for my brother, but his computer wouldn’t have been able to handle it so I kept it for myself. *grins* I tried out several shards before settling on Napa Valley. Of course, back then there was no Trammel so I got pk’d alot. My first characters were Caleb and Kielia. Kielia was my miner/smith but I grew tired of lame ass pick up lines from other players when I was trying to mine, so I made Kielia my warrior and Caleb, who had been my warrior, became my crafter.
The first guild I joined was BRW…but the guildmistress went off her meds, so after less than 3 months, I quit. But it was in BRW that I met everyone’s favorite walking deathrobe, Goku. He helped me train my characters and took me out hunting since BRW’s guildmistress would never invite the female members on her hunting trips. You may be familiar with some other folks I know from my BRW days…Doolittle/Shiva, Jane McCleary/Dulock/Freylock, Sloan, and Galahad/Mael.
I had a cozy little house on the road near the Desert of Compassion (gotta love house decay). My neighbors were friendly pkers who took pleasure in watching me disconnect when I would recall in and timeout (damn dialup connection) and then they would dry loot me. But I also had a few nice neighbors who would help me out…I’m sure they got many a heal gains off me. At the time I had not been playing often and I never read uo.com…so imagine my surprise when I logged in one day to find all the trees dead and blood and bones on the ground.
I played solo for nearly a year. I created and deleted many characters. Kale was originally created as another crafter…lumberjacking, carpentry, and inscription. But later changed him to a warrior and created Declan as my second crafter with all the above skills, but later deleted him. It was around this time that I added music and provocation to Kale to make solo hunting easier since on my dialup connection I often became overwhelmed with spawn.
Then in the early Spring of 2001, just as I was beginning to get the feeling that my days in UO were through, I decided to give joining a guild another shot. I looked into and tried out a few guilds, but couldn’t find one to my liking. Then in early May I found Clann Marrach Faol…and they haven’t been able to get rid of me since. Especially now that everyone is gone and I am the Guildmaster.
